Entitlement

Where does the Princess get this feeling of Entitlement from? Did I at some point in her life inadvertently teach her that she is entitled to receive everything yet work for nothing? Why does she feel like she can make all the messes and yet not have to pick up anything? Her room (yes she is the only kid that has her own room, the boys all share) gets all messy and she thinks that she can just go outside and play, yet the boys have to go clean their room before they can do anything... She makes a mess in the bathroom, that is OK, she will just say it was there before she got in there and have one of the boys clean it up... she doesn't have to take out the trash, that is one of the brother's chores, she doesn't do the dishes, that is another brother's chore, she does clear the table, but that take a moment... So from now on she has to clean her room everyday, and clean-up the bathroom everyday, the boys also have to clean their room everyday, and since the older boys have an everyday chore she should have one also, so the bathroom it is... lets see how she likes them apples...

Every time she is asked to do ANYTHING she pouts, and/or cries... its bull... and then she gets sent to her room until she is done, because it pisses me off that she is trying to manipulate me like that, so she can just go away till she is done, then she can come back when she is finished and do what I said in the first place... I don't know, is that a girl thing? Or a her thing??? Grrr... Oh well... lets see if this works....

Surgery it is...

On October 5th I am getting my Knee surgered... Is that the corrected term? lol... I don't know... Anyhow... the doctor is going to go in there and scrape off the little deposits that the arthritis has put on the inside of my kneecap or maybe it is on the ends of my bone that goes on the inside of my kneecap... anyhow, he knows what he is doing and my knee hurts... I have tried the doc prescribed anti-inflamatorys, we tried the giant needles that get stuck so far into my knee I think I should see them come out the other side and then goo gets shoved in there, ice the knee and wear a brace, all the kind of stuff, and it hasn't worked, so this is really the last straw before a knee replacement and I am to young for that... I do have a very high tolerance for pain so that is a good thing, but really, this is getting out of hand... so we will do this and I should be good for a number of years the doc says... and he hasn't steered me wrong yet, so here we go... I am waiting till October 5th because I may be laid off by then, so that will give me plenty of time to heal properly... Yeah me :)

My job... Well.. it was...

As of this morning at 8am my job will be more than half gone... I am going from 40 hours a week to 16 hours a week... yup weekends only... Yeah me!!!

I knew this was coming, I just thought it wasn't going to be coming for another 2 weeks :( Oh well, I only found out for sure a couple days ago... I need to get a few things in order and get an appointment with the knee doc to have that surgery I have been putting off... might as well, get it fixed now while I have the time... lol...

I found a translator that lets you type in letters and then it translates into Binary, HEX, Base64, DEC/CHAR, and one other thing that is untranslatable once you translate to that one (tho why you would want to do that I don't know...) and that is where I go to translate mine...lol... and it also lets me but the Binary in and translate it back :) YEAH me... It is fun to play with...

For a while I was worried about how my kids would react...

At first I was worried about how my kids would handle me coming out... I didn't know if they would be embarrassed, or try to lie about me being a Lesbian... Well... I got the answer loud and clear a number of times now... My kids have absolutely NO problem with their Mom's sexuality... First of all the eldest 3 wear Pride bracelets and if you ask them what they are they will tell you what they are and why they where them, that always makes me a little proud :) But the one that make me smile the most is Sister... I have pages from a calendar on my wall in my bedroom, my parents send them to me each week, the pages are of girls in bathing suit, its from a one a day calendar I got my Dad for Christmas, when the week is done my Mom sends me that weeks pages... So... Sister brings friends over to play once in a while, and for whatever reason they always end up looking in my room, I guess that is a girl thing, and the little friends ALWAYS ask Sister "Why does your mom have pictures of girls on her wall" and Sister just matter of factly tells them "Oh, that is because she is a Lesbian" and most of the time the little girls have to ask her what that is... lol.. cause they don't know... and Sister tells them "That means she dates girls instead of boys" and then she says something about lets go put on make up now, or are we going to watch TV, or whatever it was they were planning to do before the little girls got distracted by the girls on my wall... So Sister doesn't make a big deal about it and doesn't let her friends make a big deal about it either... once in a while I hear the girls ask Sister questions later when they are away from me and she just answers them like it is no big deal and then they keep playing... I am proud of my kids for educating others also, that is helpful in combating the hate :)

It also is nice to hear them tell me I am the best Gay Mom ever :D

"Thats so gay"

This is a frequently said phrase by a lot of teens, pre-teens and even younger kids, and a lot of adults actually... some Gay folks get very offended by this phrase, I personally don't, but then again, it takes a LOT to offend me, I just think to myself when people say this that either their Momma didn't teach them any better, or they just aren't thinking about what they are saying, more than likely they are not saying it to be mean, it is just something that is said so much that people pick it up... However... There are some Gay Folks that are very offended by this phrase... Now, when I hear somebody say "that's so gay" I usually say "That so Straight" and it get the point across and we usually laugh... it has had some of the desired results and the amount of times I have heard the phrase has reduced dramatically :)

NOW... I recently read a blog by a guy I went to high school with, also Gay, funny as all hell, and his approach on the "That's so Gay" is way better than mine, I don't see it actually working, but I really like the idea, sorry Hopper, but I am rewriting about your idea here cause it merits mention... Here is his idea: Anytime somebody says "That so Gay" you go over and start kissing them, like seriously making out with them, LMAO... So eventually straight people will think that when somebody says "That so Gay" it is a Gay persons mating call... I like that idea... his blog was way more detailed than what I just wrote, he even had an outline for a commercial, it was funny as hell... and if we could get that into circulation, (the idea that "that's so gay" is the gay folks mating call) then I bet the phrase would slowly be phased out... could you see the teenage boys sitting around and one of them says "That so gay" and the other one jumps and says "OMG, don't say that... its the mating call of the gays" it wouldn't take long....
